CWSS -Water Maintenance Worker

General Definition of Work
Performs work maintaining water and sewer ways by digging trenches and using clamps for repairing or replacing sections of pipes, locating and maintaining residential water and electric meters by performing maintenance and meter swaps, operating and maintaining heavy equipment and vehicles, and related work as apparent or assigned.
Work is performed under the supervision of the CWSS Maintenance Supervisor.
This position is Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm with on-call availability on a rotation basis, weekends and holidays as job duties demand.

Public Works Project Coordinator

General Definition of Work
The Public Works Project Coordinator provides administrative, technical, and organizational support for the Public Works Engineer. Coordinating and monitoring public works projects. This position assists with capital improvement projects, infrastructure maintenance programs, utility coordination, and project reporting. Work involves frequent communication with contractors, consultants, city staff, and the public to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with city policies and regulations.
Work is performed under the direction of the Public Works Engineer.

- Prepare materials for meetings, presentations, and public communications regarding project status.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, city codes, and departmental policies.
- Assist with grant applications, reporting requirements, and funding documentation for capital projects.
- Conduct field visits as directed to monitor project activities and verify progress.
- Provide administrative support to the Public Works Engineer and Director, including scheduling, correspondence, and reporting for projects.
- Perform all other general Public Works support duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in project coordination, construction management, public works, utilities, or a related field.
- Experience supporting engineers, supervisors, or project managers on infrastructure or capital projects.
- Knowledge of public works functions such as utilities, transportation, stormwater, and facility management.
- Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, and technical reports.
- Valid driver’s license required.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Journeyman Lineman

Firefighter/Paramedic

POSITION SUMMARY: Harrisonville, Missouri is a 4th class city located 30 miles south of Kansas City, Missouri with a population of approximately 10,000. Harrisonville Emergency Services is a department with up-to-date equipment with state-of-the-art EMS equipment. Currently employee’s 21 full time personnel including command staff that performs the challenging work of emergency medical care, fire suppression, fire prevention and rescue. The fire department operates a 24 hour Modified Berkley Schedule. The department operates one ALS engine, and two fully staffed ALS ambulances from one station.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responds to emergency situations and incident to suppress fires, affect rescues/extrications, participated in searches, mitigate hazardous materials and perform other duties as assigned and capable.
• Operate firefighting tools, aerial equipment, emergency medical equipment, extrication and rescue equipment and a variety of related tools and vehicles.
• Provide basic and advanced life support and emergency medical care.
• Participates in on-going technical and physical training to maintain certifications.
• Cleans and performs routine maintenance and minor repairs to department facilities.
• Participates in fire prevention and safety education/promotional events. Conducts station tours and gives presentations and demonstrates the use of the fire suppression and safety equipment.
• Assists in documenting incident and provides incident information to appropriate agencies and supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The city will send selected individuals to Firefighter I & II Training if necessary.
Required Qualifications:
•Possession of a valid state driver’s license

•Paramedic Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
• Vocational/technical training in firefighting and emergency medical treatment with two years of firefighting and paramedic experience or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Possession of EMT-P certification, Firefighter I & II, hazardous materials operation, advanced life support, and basic life support certifications (ACLS, PALS, BTLS, CPR-Health Care Provider).
Starting pay ranges from $53,285 to $72,103

- Opening and closing the pool each day according to scheduled hours.
- Supervises swimming activities at the indoor pool and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.

- Administers first aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.

- Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable.
- Supervises and assists in cleaning the pool and related facilities and equipment, assists with chlorine residual water tests and with records and charts of water tests and records of accidents, and adds chemicals to pool water as directed.
- Instructs or assists classes in fundamentals of swimming as needed.
- Must be courteous and helpful to customers, staff, and public.
- Performs additional duties as required.
- Follow city and department policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be available for weekends, and some holidays.
- Applicants must be 15 years of age.
- Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.
Special Qualifications
- Obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications from an approved organization within six months of hire.
- Certified Lifeguard training certificate.
Starting pay is $14.30 per hour.
