During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Harrisonville Public Works Department wants to share with you this important reminder from our friends at St. Louis MSD Project Clear about what should and shouldn’t be flushed down your toilet.
The Harrisonville Water Treatment Facility on Jefferson Parkway and its personnel provide clean, safe drinking water that meets or exceeds all State and Federal standards to the residents and businesses of Harrisonville.
Lake Harrisonville, a 7,000 acre-foot surface reservoir is the source of the city’s drinking water. A 1.8 million gallon a day (MGD) treatment plant filters, disinfects and pumps an average of 850,000 gallons of water a day to an elevated storage facility to be distributed within the city. Emergency Water Connection Agreements with Public Water Districts 4 & 9 are in place to provide assistance in a water emergency.
A treatment optimization study, improved taste, and odor controls, and facilities plan to be completed in 2013 to identified improvements to Lake Harrisonville and water treatment plant. If you have water quality questions or concerns, please contact the water treatment plant staff at 816-380-8963.
