Patrols' Assignments

Preventive patrol is an important function of the Patrol Division. Officers make their visible presence serve as a deterrent to crime. Analysis of crime and other calls determines the assignment of officers to areas. These patrol areas are periodically reevaluated.

Servicing the Community

Special patrols are tailored for community events and other special details within the city. A patrol officer is responsible for any calls for police service. At times when there are more demands for police service, additional officers are scheduled to work. They can handle assignments, serve as a backup, and assist on calls of a serious nature. All patrol officers are under the supervision of a sergeant and lieutenant.
