The City of Harrisonville will begin accepting filings for candidacy for the April 2, 2024, Municipal Election on December 5, 2023.
Open positions include: Aldermen Ward 1 – four year term, Aldermen Ward 2 – four year term, Aldermen Ward 3 – four year term and Aldermen Ward 4 – four year term.
Filings for candidacy will open at 8 a.m. on December 5, 2023. Fillings for candidacy will close at 5 p.m. on December 26, 2023.
All candidates who wish to have their names on the official ballot are hereby notified to file their names in person with the City Clerk at City Hall – 300 E Pearl Street, Harrisonville, MO. Filing hours will be Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Please note that City Hall will be closed on December 26th, for the Christmas holiday. Those wishing to file will need to complete the filing process by December 22.
All qualified candidates are hereby notified of the statutory requirement to provide to the City Clerk proof of identity, at the time of filing.
Candidate qualifications: Candidate cannot be found guilty of or pled guilty to felony or misdemeanor under federal law or to a felony under the laws of this state or an offense committed in another state that would be considered a felony in this state; required to file Missouri Department of Revenue Form 5120; must be a resident of the City of Harrisonville for one (1) year preceding the election and shall remain a resident of Harrisonville; must be at least 25 years of age at the time of the election; must be a citizen of the United States.
